This is one of those days to celebrate being a toy collector enthusiast.
I’m already a fan of Dynamite Entertainment comics, and now comes word that the company is moving forward with the launch of Dynamite Toys in 2014.
According to a Dynamite press release, the first properties to get the action figure treatment will include Army of Darkness, the Six Million Dollar Man, Vampirella, Chaos Comics and Red Sonja.
We’ll see how those AOD figures stack up against the old McFarlane line and the newer NECA figures.
What I’m really looking forward to is a possible Masks lineup. The comic series is a team-up of pulp heroes The Shadow, Green Hornet, The Spider and Zorro, among others.
I’ve mentioned in previous posts that I’m a fan of these heroes (I love listening to the old-time radio podcasts) and I would love to see some high-quality figures in future Dynamite lines.
Surely the quality will be far superior to the Shadow line produced by Kenner in the mid-90s. I think those toys and the Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves series qualify for some of the worst movie tie-in action figures of all time.
Oh wow, I just had a laughing fit thinking about those Robin Hood figures.
